Can you use base coat on wallpaper and wood?

I'm redecorating and found a few tins of white base coat in the shed, can I use this to undercoat the wallpaper and skirting boards etc? My mate reckons I need to buy undercoat instead.

that posh stain and grain stuff you coat anythin you can get your hands on with, cupboard doors, wallboarding etc,the basecoat in that is fantastic at covering anything up with and it did black ash in one coat .

I went back to B and Q to ask what the basecoat was as it made a lot of jobs piss easy and he said its just emulsion...

so emusion could be worth a try m8..

I would use undercoat for wood m8. Anything else is likely to crack and peel off after a while.

what is it a base coat of m8 emulstion or base coat with a top coat to finish. thake a quick pic m8 and i'll tell u !
also what kinda wallpaper u got is it embossed or vinyl.. u cant on the later
