    Film The Happening

If you have seen any of M Night Shyamalan's films then this will be no surprise... I cant really say much about the film without giving anything away but the story is freaky... and scarily enough cannot be proven not possible!?!?!

There are a couple of comedic moments and also a couple of jumpy moments. It certainly made me think especially with recent events over the last couple of years....

i have to say i fu(kin loved this..

been waiting for this to come out since i saw the teaser ages ago and it didnt disappoint.

some of the scenes were really fu(kin eerie
    Spoiler:
just watching folk commit suicide left right and centre is nuts

the bit with the blokes walkin off the building and all the hanging bodies in the other bit.. fack me.. sent a shiver down your spine
liked wahlberg in this and his bird was fu(kin hot. really well made/shot, great twist/plot/ending type stuff as per most of shamamamlayans films and quite scary in some respects cos the bee shit is actually happening.

one of the better of his recent movies, prolly not everyones cup of tea, but it had me glued to the screen.

    8.5/10

This was crap. Poorly acted and boring as fuck and I saw no evidence of a twist and bog all explanation for what had just happened.

    Dump.

@ CominAtcha Why would you need an explanation for everything?? *remember I have NOT seen it yet*

why don't you watch the movie before you get into this....its no hitchcock classic m8...had to check the other movies M. Night Shyamalan has done and have to say i thought everyone of his i've watched has been drivel except the sixth sense...this pish is no sixth sense either, self indulgent, wooden and most of all utterly predictable and tedious.

if i'd known it was the same (unt had done signs and unbreakable never mind lady in the water i would have swerved it tbh.4 of us went to see this and only m8's gf thought it was passable.sayin that she has no more brain's than your average cabbage, just about enough brainpower to watch this pish and the other movies i've seen by him.do yourself a favour and be happy with the trailer for this as those "highlights"are the only remotely interesting bits..... i look forward to your review

We'll see, TBH Sixth Sense for me was his weakest but largely because I can't take Bruce Willis seriously without a vest these days. I was surprised at how well Signs turned out as Mel isn't known for his versatility! I think the director has a lot to do with that. He manages to create real atmosphere and seems to get the best cameramen in the business. Editing, writing, soundtracks....all top notch, just a real class act. If you're looking for a fast moving, sci-fi or horror (I like those too) you'll be disappointed, horses for courses.

I didn't need it spelling out for me or anything. But a random series of events that just stop (as in, the film ends) does not make a great story for me.

It really was very dull indeed.

Think you`ll have to agree to disagree! Im looking forward to seeing this myself - I thought Signs was excellent and the sixth sense was good too - the village was ok but lady in the water was a bag of w@nk.

Appalling. About as badly executed, poorly acted, misjudged piece of high budget cinema as you're ever likely to see. Kind of like Day Of The Triffids crossed with The Day After Tomorrow with sub-Toxic Avenger level performances and a director at the helm who's patently lost his fu(king marbles.

I was literally wincing on occasion. Mark Wahlberg can fu(king act. He really can but here he was legendarily bad. Bad enough to hurt his career levels of bad and Zoey Deschanel was just as woeful. So many ill-advised and jarring scenes and terrible bits of dialogue. I have liked most of Shyamalan's films up until now. Signs is marvellous. This? fu(king hell, just so so so so bad. Look Who's Talking Too bad. The Village is Citizen Kane in comparison with this.

I have, so far, enjoyed all of M. Night Shyamalan films, but this was poor in comparison to the rest. The basis of a story was there, but for me they just didn't build on it.

The only thought provoked by The Happening for me was 'why the fuck did I pay to see this garbage?'
