Default When website payments go bad....

Bugger, just got of the phone to First Choice.

Book a holiday at the beginning of June, done it online.

So there i was, filling in all the junk, next, next accept.

Then it asked for payment details, put them in, press next.

    Bang

" First choice has encountered an error ".

Ok.. ummm - back it is then.

    " Session expired ".

Bugger, ok lets start again.. Go through all the crap all over again.

    Get my email confirmation, lovely.

Few days later, paper confirmation turns up and i file it away, today tickets turn up and its got my mrs with prefix "Mr".

No problem, i'll just call them up - so im on the lappy and give her the reservation number i got on the internet.

She tells me there are no passengers on that booking, 2 seats book but no passengers.

How can that be, i've got the tickets in my hand ffs. - She goes away... i go to get the tickets, checking the info over - DIFFERENT booking code on it.

    So.. long story short

First Choice billed me for 2 holidays despite one having no passengers.

    Naughty naughty

i know how you feel, i ordered an ocarina from amazon marketplace for £0.01+P&P and it turned out to be a toy one that was too small to actually play. couldnt tell from the picture because it had no scale on it. bloody online shopping.

I fucking hate shopping websites that pull tricks like that on you though - it should be priority one to ensure that no errors occur when you are buying expensive items. fair enough if you can afford it, or if you are ordering from poundland.com or something, but for some people booking a holiday twice might max out their cards and leave them pennyless until its resolved.

I checked the total amount in there last week.. it looked healthy so i wasnt worried

There is so much 'small print' and T&C's that you sign up to without reading they have you between a rock and a hard place as soon as you sign (or click).

We booked a holiday well in advance and we then found out about 2 months before the hol that there were major works going on at the hotel. I went to Thomson and said can you move us to a new hotel - they said we would have to pay the difference on cost and if we changed destination we would loss the savings on that flight!

I asked them to check their system for hotels works (all travel agents have this system) and out hotel was on it but at a Grade 2 - I will explain:

Grade 1 work is planned or in progress but does not effect the holiday
Grade 2 work is in progress and may effect holiday
Grade 3 hotel not suitable clients to relocate

You should receive a letter for Grade 2 and at that point you could change your holiday with no admin fees but you will have to pay the difference in holiday cost. Because we had found out about the changes before they were due to check the hotel we were not liable for the free upgrade (no letter). I could do nothing about this and in the end we moved to another hotel for roughly the same price.

When I went to collect the tickets it was at Grade 3 and the letters had gone out.

It could have been worse I mean you could have dropped a printer on your foot.
