Default BT wiring & bugging device

    Hi all
Long story but have been asked to fit listening devices to the office I subby for, apparently someone is leaking our jobs to the opposition
Bought this to listen in on calls and radio conversations, it comes with an inline phone bug, just 2 wires and with this it will send your calls to the reciever and a dictaphone records it all, I tried to wire it up for the owner when the office was closed but had no joy, think it may be meant for US telephony system !!

Any ideas how I could get this to work, I tried pins 2,5 but this made a circuit and no dial tone, it needs to use the inline voltage from the phoneline for power

    Any help much appreciated

Is the office phones on a pbx mate? That could cause it not to work as I've tried tapping onto pbx phones before with phone taps designed for the domestic market. I figures the wiring/voltage was different and I gave up.

You could try using a voltmeter, and measuring voltage across the contacts as you pick up phone, and put it down again.

It's quite a small taxi office mate, only 2 incoming lines on 2 sockets, would this matter
