    Default Wall-E

I was very reluctant to watch this movie. I'm not a huge fan of animation but someone suggested I should watch it.

The premise wasn't that original but the visuals are simply stunning. Up until now I've had a hard time watching this kind of movie. However, it seems the technology has reached a stage where they can deliver real beauty.

The story wasn't the best but the visuals are as good as it gets.

    7/10

I agree that this is the best CGI movie to date but I reckon that the 'short' at the begining with the magician and the rabbit was the funniest part of the movie!!

The funny parts are pretty much what you have seen in the trailers so I did actually feel let down. The story itself is quite poinent but still, not as good as Toy Story.

I'm a great fan of CGI animation and the visuals in this film were probably the best yet. That doesn't excuse the crappie story line though which was utter shite. If it wasn't for all the great cgi in this film I would have been very very bored. This film had all the hype and failed to deliver.

Is it possible that you are expecting to much from a story line that is aimed at 6 year olds...?

I've enjoyed every other disney/pixar production so had high hopes for this one.

I thought the Story was brilliant, and a comment on how society is getting fatter and lazier, allowing technology to do everything for us and how we go everywhere in vehicles so we're never off our arses.

It also explored how big corporations bombard us with advertisements to tell us what's cool and what we should do and buy, environmental issues, fear, loneliness of being the last person (well robot) on earth.

I thought the story was pretty deep for a kids film.

My kids were bored silly, me and the misses enjoyed it though, and like CJ this one really didn't appeal to me at all.

Still a long way from The Incredibles in terms of pure entertainment, but my "cinema" wasn't showing such a great version of the movie, so some of the intricacies with the gfx were lost on me I think.

i LOVED this... even seen it twice now..

best pixar movie to date, by a long shot. amazing animation, good story, relatively funny for a kids flick.

the fact they can give so much character and personality to animated robots of all things is a major feat imo.

incidentally, i watched ratatouille the other week for the first time, i was avoiding it tbh as i thought it would be wank and jesus, was i right, wish i hadnt bothered... htf people can slaver over that bollox is beyond me.

    anyway, wall-e 9/10

Very clever, especially as there is hardly any dialogue in the first half hour.

Quite enjoyed the story, and the cgi was sensational.

Watched this today, wouldn't have bothered but it features in one of the all time scifi movie lists somewhere and had a day at home with a 10 year old, so took the opportunity.

I really enjoyed it, entirely bought into the landscape and emptiness of the planet and wall-e's loneliness. Really enjoyed the little gags and references to other stuff, such as him rebooting sounding like a mac booting up, and though the overall message was just about spot on for a kid's movie that can be enjoyed by adults too.

A very engaging 7.5/10 and looking forward to a second watch.
