It usually goes down after a few days...
yeah am expecting it to go down! but its great i get it for now after all the shit i had on virgin!!! the most i EVER got on that was 3mb on my upto 8mb so its promising that i will get a decent service after the settling in period!!!
Yes, but the settling in period would not exceed 8Mb for more than a few seconds at a time. The DSLAM you are patched into connects you to an 8Mb PVC which although can burst above that, would not sustain the burst for more than a few seconds...

Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
yeah i am pegasus, moved house too and the exchange is literally on my doorstep.!!
managed to speedtest it at around 11mb a few times now neo, but i know that it will drop much lower!! leave me with my happiness!!!!
crazy

hmmm im getting confused pegasus!! so your not even a bit suprised i get 11mb on my upto 8mb connection.
you seem to be suggesting its normal???
2.5km!!! lol what a waste of wire, i can throw a stone at the xchange!!! lol
crazy
Its quite possible if you have phone extensions they are jacking up your attenuation mine was 32db down when mine were plugged in but i removed them (Wasnt using them anyway were part of the house when we got here) and installed a filtered faceplate and went down to 18db attenuation.

All of them... I said "you can", as in it's technically possible to achieve up to 1Mb upload on an 8Mb DSL service, but you would have to be patched directly to the DSLAM on a 3m cable with no interference (we did it during testing). But you're right, you will never get above 800k upload on ADSL 8Mb to your home.

ahhh right i see!! i dont get all this stuff!! i just know it was sold to me as the 'upto 8mb' connection
the upload speed on that test was actually slower than i usually test at, 9 out of 10 times its been over 1mb.Your upload speed confirms what you have already admitted, you must be on the ADSL2+ service in order to get that fast an upload speed.
didnt o2 buy be a little while ago and be are an adsl2+ provider im with them as of the start of this month and its great i was on adsl max with bt before and now im on 20-21mb
if i were you to make sure that you get top speed get rid of the ring wire in the phone socket and then email your providers support and ask them to enable fastpath on a 6db profile and to turn off DLM, i did this and went from 15to 18mb and if its stable ask for a 3db profile again with fastpath and dlm off and you could (if you get the attenuation sorted and reduced) go even faster im currently syncing at
