I have stolen money from a DF member and a member of Disqworld. All my personal details including families details are on file and will be made public to everyone if I do not refund the money I stole or send the goods I promised. My name will be ravaged across the net and the consequences will be severe if I do not sort this fucking mess out.

You can't even drive and want a quad?????!!!

I would start by getting a provisional then go from there.

Don't you already have a car license? I think quads are treated like cars, thats why you don't need a helmet for them. So you would need a car license.

You need either a full car license, or a pre 1999 motorcycle license.

Jeez mate, if you have never driven before then I wouldn't recommend a quad bike....they ain't exactly the most stable of vehicles to start with and it's very easy to end up on your arse.

You will be wanting FULL protection unless you want to end up looking like Simon Weston in the event of an accident.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

You will certainly look like a grade 1 cunt and after an accident a grade 1 skinless dead cunt. They are a ridiculous mode of transport. have a look at Ozzy Osbourne and Rik Mayall for examples of the fun you can have.

Sorry for being a boring old fart mate but you will have no protection whatsoever if something happens and you come off the bike. Bare minimum is gloves but seriously I would have leathers. These quads are difficult to handle especially at speed and going around corners.

You have to ask yourself what you really want the bike for. If you have no licence and it is your first bike/car/vehicle then I would suggest an alternative like a good scooter. Another thing about quads is you will get stuck in traffic and you won't look cool sweating your arse off immobile. With a bike/scooter at least you can get to the front at the lights and simply drive up the side of queues.

Quads are not good for for someone with no licence!! Get something else and then make a decision in a few months time If that is what you want then it doesn't matter what any of us say on here really does it.

Also consider the winter. You can have waterproofs and thermals on but you will still freeze your bollox off.

As I say ask your self will you use it all year around or just when it's nice out.....

    Now that's pretty quick
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

I drove one a few weeks back and have to say it was entertaining indeed. Nearly impossible to roll and accelerates like a beast.
