    Right,

I have spent the best part of the day trying to get this to work on the now world famous Navi-go unit.

I managed to get the program to install okay by doing this:

Copy the contents of TomTom.Navigator.v7.450.9028-GiZPDA.zip to a newly formatted 1gb SD card.
Open notepad and type in "\Windows\explorer.exe" and save the file as shell.ini on the root of the SD card.
Put SD card in Navi-go and turn it on.
Click on "Navigation" icon and start bar appears ;-).
Open Explorer on the Navi-go (START-PROGRAMS-WINDOWS EXPLORER)
Double click on SDMMD icon and then double click on the cab file.
Choose to install on the SDMMC.

I then followed the instrutions (in the downloads VIP section) to try and get the UK&IE map to work, but each time I try I get the "No Maps Found!" error.

Keygen and everything worked fine, generated the .dct file no probs.

The only thing I am not 100% sure about is the device ID. If you click on settings then about, the Navi-go does show a 16 digit ID code which is what I used.

    Anyone have any idea?

Figured to that the process will be the same for the AyToBe units too.

I'm not 100% sure (not a VIP) but I think you have to add the Guam map first.

The links to the program files and maps are in the VIP section.

I'm sure they can be found on torrent sites and/or newsgroups too.

Not completely related but I find miomap and igo8 easier on the eye than tomtom s/ware on my navigo. Works out the routes just as quick if not quicker on igo8, nice 3d buildings etc. Just in case anyone hasn't tried the alternatives.

Ok... A bit of progress. Kinda.

There is a recently released patch that solves a memory error when using TT7. Not that I have had this error, but anyway.

Here it is: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I have also discovered that the AyToBe units are WinCE 4.2 and a lot of the Navigo's are WinCE 5.0.

This explains problems I've had with IGo8 and may also mean TT7 will NOT work with the AyToBe.

I'll know more 2mo, when I get back to work where the Navigo unit is. If I can get it working on that, there may be a possibility of it working on the AyToBe.

    the way ive done it.
copy the cab file from this release to the sd card. TomTom.Navigator.v7.450.9028.Multilanguage.PPC.WM5.WM6-GiZPDA
install it, i did it to sdmmc\navigator.
copy the voices folder to the navigator folder.
copy this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to the navigator folder.
replace the tomtom exe with this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

for the map i used this release TomTom7.United.Kingdom.and.Ireland.v720.1802.Map-GAY
copy the map to the root of the sd.

now run the tomtom application once, get the device id from ttnavigator.bif
put the device id in the text file with the keygen.
copy the pna and meta file to insert_meta_from_Map_here folder.
    run RunMeforDCT.cmd, option 2 then 1

then copy the generated dct file back to the uk map folder on the sd card.

That's pretty much what I did today. But with the un-patched tomtom.exe

Program installed fine, just couldn't get the damn map to show up.

I will do the same 2moro and see if I can get it to run on the AyToBe.

So vgopal, working fine with that map? Did you get some errors when actually installing teh main program? Like failure to copy some file or something?

i didnt have any errors when installing, make sure you tell it to install on the sd card and not any internal memory.

its working fine now after lots of messing about.

theres an extra dll there in that post which makes the map visible once its in the root.

also make sure youre using the right map, one i got off usenet didnt work. then i found the one above.

    no guam map needed.

Any chance of an upload of your memory card so I can try this out on my Navigo?

    Thanks

    Sorted.

Got my Navigo working with TT7 and v720 maps!

All seems to be working, but not been out on a drive to test. I will also replicate my findings later on my AyToBe unit to see if that will work too. I am doubtful though due to the WinCE version being older on the AyToBe.

Anyway I've upped my SD card image (which contains updated speed cams, ogg files for warnings and postcode files) to here: ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ])

If someone could test it and see if the image works. If it doesn't it'll be due to varying Device_ID's. And you will have to re-do the crack/keygen. If this is the case I will post an idiots guide later on.

If the card image works fine, then can someone (VIP) also upload to Blaggard's FTP for all to access.

Thanks to all that contributed to this.

Also you can edit the maps on the unit. So if a road on the Sat Nav isn't a one way road, but it is in the real world you can change it. You can change street names, and unblock/block streets.

Dj Overdose, has yours got postcodes working.

i had to add the "zip" folder to get 7 digit postcodes to work.
