I posted a bit about it in http://www.digital-forums.com/showth...p=2568546]this thread] but noone really wanted to listen.
The xbox 360 test is useless as I've had mine running perfectly on 1080p even though it was plugged in to a monitor that only display 1600x1200.
Re the 1:1 mapping thing, I know what an lcd screen looks like at native resolution and my old man's despite being marketed as a 1080p, and specs state the screen's max res is 1080p, the actual native resolution is only 1366x766. Tried it on another telly which was only a tiny notch better.
What I suspect is happening is that the xbox picks up the edid data from the screen and automatically drops to the highest possible res.
Not saying all hd tellys suffer from this, but they only two (both bought this year) that I've been able to mess around with both have the same problem. Not interested in any df'ers trying to tell me I've got it wrong as I conclusively have tested and I know I'm not. Only advising other df'ers that if you have been missold a telly, you may want to do something.
