A superb episode, but the picture quality was attrocious......alarm bells should have rung when I saw the filesize was less than 800Mb. Picture turned out to be extremely grainy and even worse, NOT widescreen !.
Must look for a better quality cap next week.

Im going to grab that just to see if its any better, though the "HR" specification is half 1080i, which is not going to be better than the 720p one I watched....though I might put up with that if its widescreen and not grainy.

Aye, hopefully a better version. Although the shield has always been filmed in 4:3, not wide screen. And it has always had that grainy effect - going for the documentary feel.

Unfortunately, this version was slightly worse, and was still cropped wrong (look at the FX logo in the corner which looks more like F>).

Im wondering if FX don't broadcast in HD in the US, as the recent Rescue Me mini-episodes also had this strange grainy effect, which is more than the Shield uses normaly, and obviously not a bitrate problem, which would pixelate rather than grain.
