Help any lcd tv engineers able to advise please

i have a samsung LE32M51B S tv and it wont switch on .
i turned the tv of last night and went to switch on this morning and nothing.
usually when you switch it on it makes a little melody tune then starts but there is no melody and screen is totally blank.

i have unplugged for a couple of hours and retried but nothing . the only thing you can hear when you press the power button is a little click what you normally hear befor the melody but thats as far as it gets. the tv has been running perfectly no glitches no screen problems. just cant understand why its suddenly not starting up.

i dont know anything about the workings of lcd tvs but the click is like that of an car indicator and am wondering if there is some type of relay that may kick in something lik the starter of a flourecant tube .

anyone able to shed some light what the problem may be .
    thanks in advance

im not taking the piss, but have you checked the wall socket, plug fuse and cable are intact ?

Can be the simplest things some times.

No life at all initially screams power supply fault but in reality it could be a multitude of things. Also dont mess about inside without knowing what you are doing. The backlight may have an inverter board which can give you a nasty shock.

the socket on wall is fine mate . everything else is working of the socket. i see the blue ring light up around the power button on tv showing its turned on also can turn on and of with remote . it just seems like the screen does not want to start up .

ahh right, thats different then i didnt realise there was a light on. Its therefore going to be an electronic fault and unlikely to be able to be repaired without a decent service engineer and/or detailed scematics.

Doesnt sound good. Phone samsung up and get an engineer round. Even if its past its warranty they should still look and/or fix it

A mate had the same problem albeit with an lg lcd it cost him £105 to get a part of the power supply replaced by the local tv repair shop.
