Box Purchase - Help Please!

I`d like some advice from you guys on what box I need to purchase, and maybe even where / who from.... here are my criteria:

* Needs to connect to VM feed.
* Would like to be able to "scan" for channels, so I could pick up PPV/Box Office (ie Khan fight tonight)
* Hard drive built in so I could record programs (like a PVR)
* Also if possible a way to transfer these saved programs to a PC? (not necesity, but would be nice!)
* Other cool features...?

I`m guessing starview/dbox of some sort, but I am kinda overwhelmed by all the models and features of each box and don`t want to end up buying the wrong thing.

Agree with you on that. For example if they radically change the Encryption system.

can any1 help me with a pm, ive just had my v+box modified. it does show adult or sky movies. i can live with that, but all the special features of the v+box dont work............any help guys.

I would suggest either a DBox or a Dreambox!

DM500c or DM600PVR. The 500c is a Dreambox 500 Clone, but still does that same job and its cheaper.

The 600PVR is apparently a great machine. DM7025 is excellent with Dual tuners but a lot more expensive.

The DM7025 is expensive.... But if I decided to switch from Cable to Sat all I could do that by purchasing a couple of tuners right?

You have to purchase 2 seperate DBoxes.

If your in a Cabled area though, no harm in having a Satellite dish as well. Get's loads of European channels (albeit foriegn), but is harder to setup.

I've decided that 7025 is the way forward. Especially after seeing the types of interfaces available -
