    Default More Wood..

Just some more taken on my walk around Crow Point to get this months comp entry, more can be seen on my flickr stream (link in my sig).

Had fun and even ended up shooting a family portrait whilst I was out, always pays to have all you kit with you. well I had a full camera bag, plus light stands, Shoot through umbrellas and poverty wizards.
Simple kit set up but very effective.

    Lonely Stump

    Bundle of bits.

    Boat Hull

    Becareful

    The good side

Almost forgot, all images taken on Canon 40D with combo of Tokina 12-24mm f/4 and Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8, shot in RAW converted in Lightroom 2.
    Enjoy.

    Very nice set wingnut.

I think you've very slightly over done the vignetting unless it's my monitor making it look a little dark- not calibrated at work.

The 'stump' is an interesting image, some nice leading lines of the pebbles coming in from the left and the sky is nice too. Stump looks a tad soft at the bottom though.

Bundle of sticks is nice but that shadow bottom right is a bit distracting, perhaps crop the bottom from the shot.

I love 'boat hull' but it looks like one of the shots that would work well in square format, cropping off the bottom 1/3 and a bit of the sky.

Not keen on 'be careful', the halo around the chap doesn't work.

'The good side', is well composed, really nice colours. Very nice. Dare i say it, a candidate for HDR?

Cheers for that mate, may have overdone the vignetting on one image but rest should be just right could be your monitor.

The stump is a little soft at the bottom, seems to be a trait of that lens sometimes, and it was shot at f/4 I think i may have some other shots at higher f stop, will check when i get home

My bad on the shadow, that's is me in the shot.. TBH honest i never really paid too much attention to those ones, they were taken as a possible entry to the comp and had great ideas of cloning the sand to be smooth, remove the shadow etc etc, but didn't like it as much as my entry so just processed and put it in my winter work pile. Will redo do it and show you the results.

Halo, what halo he has naturally thin fuzzy hair.!

This is one I took a while ago and gave a subtle HDR touch too.

    Thanks for the comments though.

I really like images 1, 2 and 3. The composition in these is fantastic and I love the colour of them. I agree the shadow is a little distracting but overall the images are superb.

    Hi wingnut,

It was my work monitor, the vigneting is not nearly as strong on my monitor at home. No.1 is the most vignetted as far as I can tell.

Love th HDr of that boat, just what hdr is all about.
