    Default My New Ride

    got this today

    Suzuki Bandit 1200cc
upgraded shocks, art exhaust system, lowered front end for improved cornering. plenty of custom shiny bits as usual + a real nice custom seat and it has dynojet stage 1
2000 model.. 14k miles.. been looked after carefully by an elderly BMW rider.... till now

my only real concern is the totally illegal can... I may want to ride it at silly speeds on the back wheel, but I don't want to attract any more attention! lol

sounds nice can't remember what forks he has on this but I do know he's set them fairly soft for a more comfy ride. I'll probs stiffen them up a bit.. put some bar end mirrors on. and those twin headlights look sweet so might have to have some of them too

just get a dremel and grind away the "Not for Road Use" stamp then flat it with some sand paper eventually you can get it to look like it was never there. I have
WHoever told you that lowered front end for better handling is talking shite though, it totally depends on who's riding the thing, all it will do is speed up the steering so depending on wether or not you needed quicker steering it wont matter, as far as I can remember they steer wuick enough mate

Your better off just driving it with the can stamped not for road use. We ride around Northumberland/Scottish Borders mostly and when we got pulled this year the cop had a noise meter and just measured the noise of the can's (removeable baffles...blah blah blah).

He was saying that masking the not for road use, or attaching a BSAU plate is actually a worse offence than having a illegal can.

He could have been taking the piss but as we were riding with legal bikes he had no reason to.

Dont worry about the can mate, as you can see in my avatar i have an ART can on my mille and it's never got me pulled, a lot of coppers i've spoken too on the subject actually like an aftermarket can as they say it gets the attention of car drivers, as long as you aint ripping it up thru villages they'll usually turn a blind eye to it. Mine went in for an MOT a few weeks ago and i left the can on but covered the not for road use with a sticker and it passed.

    Nice bike by the way...

FACT: Police cannot do you if there is nothing on the can stating that it is only for Race track use sounds like you just got a smart arse copper who likes to scare people, as far as MOT's go if you just put a piece of taper over the stamp then they are not really allowed to remove it so it'll pass anyway.

I don't think it would pass a sound test tho. even I think it's a bit loud and I play in a thrash metal bad! lol
I ride with a couple of traffic cops so I might as them to test it hehe.. although they were disciplined for fraternizing with us non-cop bikers!!! apparently them being seen hanging out with us portrayed the wrong image!!
