DSi vs DS

cant see this as an upgrade really, nintendo cashing in on the populartiy of the ds is all i can see. No were near enough features to make this the next nintendo buy, well not for me

I had reading few site about the DSi, one thing that game to light was region lock games. Not sure this is for DS game or just the download ware games.

any specific 'software' for the DSi is going to be region locked, be it on cart or downloaded so theres not much point in importing one. there may be work arounds though, there usually is. I hope theyre still bringing the download service to the normal ds too, with the addon card they had planned.

region-locking the device is suicide for handhelds surely. I mean if my kids go to the US they can buy themselves games to play whilst out there on their DS but with the DSi they would be stuck with whatever they went out there with.

Region-locking anything sucks in my opinion and can be used as a justification for breaking the protection in a court of law

Not worth buying imo. At least now they should be working on the DS2
