This thread has an aroma to it, I can't quite put my finger on...

Can anyone, looking at you Stan, give model numbers, pictures, diagrams or instructions on how this setup works?

As far as I can tell, the TV would have to have some sort of linux O/S on it, so you can decode the channels...

Does the cable feed just plug into the TV? Do you just need a funcard, with the AU fix on it for it to work, or an Atmega or MOSC.

Details would be very useful. If there's anything you are unsure about posting, the PM it to me or one of the cable MODs and we'll edit it and post it for you if need be.

    Thanks

The model I have is a SONY KDL26T3000 with built in cable tuner. Cable feed goes in to rear. There is only one aerial/cable feed, dual tuner. You select during setup whether you want to tune to cable or aerial. The cam slot will accept various known conditional access modules. I am using diablo cam with underworld image and stealth key file as the stealth key file has the cable providers in it. You have to manually update keys at present, but works 100%.

The following is a little tutorial:-Enter "Digital Auto Tuning" in menu, select "cable"
    Scan Type Quick Scan
    Frequency 666.75
    Net ID 41048
    Symbol Rate 6.952
    Service Type All Services

Adjust settings to suit your area, then do a scan for channels.

I am using a diablo cam for decoding, programmed with latest underworld image, Stealth key file, this is pre programmed for all areas you may need to update latest keys manually as mine did not auto update. I have read that you can use a Matrix cam and a dragon cam with a card. You need to use the bk from cam in the card and set ird to 00000000's. I have also read that a blue zeta cam or joker cam can be used programmed with joker image 0.79.

I hope this has been helpful, if it has please say thanks.

    That is very useful! Thanks!

Where did you read up on this? Be interested to have a look myself and maybe also find out what TV's have this CATV tuner in them. There are a couple of compatible CAMs and I would think that once you have one, you can just use a funcard with an AU script on it. BK as you say from the CAM, and IRD whatever.

Have you tried using a smartcard that AU's?

This is the service manual. Deffo seems capable of receiving DVB-C broadcasts.

the sony KDL-32U4000 and KDL-32V4000 tesco and sainsbury's are flogging for £349 work, they both have the built in DVB-C tuner and you can run the auto tune for cable, you must add your default freq, net id and symbol rate for your area, but it works 100% , x-cams don't work on this tv

use a neotion chip cam (i've used blue zeta and white icecrypt but they need to be flashed with the joker 0.79 firmare need a cas interface for this, the retailer may do this for you - Hisat use to but i think have stopped doing this now -.....then just match the cam and smartcard bk an au img and all should be ok

used a fun 5 and rom11mosc....the mosc survived the latest kyroll method change, the fun didn't but back up 'n running now

    Yeah. Thanks.

Read up a fair bit on this, but not posted as waiting to get stuff tested in the flesh. Until someone clocks my amazon wish list and buys me the tv I want, i'm stuck! LOL!

Would always go MOSC route TBH.

    Any idea on HD?

You need to load the stealth key file onto the diablo cam as this contains the cable emu. Then go into cam menu via tv setup and manually input the latest keys. Once done should work fine. I have not been able to get diablo to auto update so have switched to joker cam with mosc.

Isn't Stealth just an alternative to Underworld?

No, I put the latest Joker on but still need to use a fun card to get access to keys! I have cards but no means of progging them as I can't use my Elvis. A mate is taking the Cas2 and SkyCrypt off me and I bit the bullet ordering a Cas3+ and diablo!!
