    A post at the SCEE internal beta has been leaked and it reveals the date of the HOME closed v1.00 beta release:

    HOME Closed Beta (v1.00) - Thursday 20th November
    First batch of SCEE invites - Friday 21st November
    Sever stress test - Friday 21st November
    Second/Third batch of SCEE invites - TBA

    Expect a lot of invites being sent out from Friday onwards. I hear that 28th November MIGHT be the date for the open beta release.

    How to know if you will enjoy Home, in two easy questions;

    Do you like The Sims?

    Do you sit on facebook (or other social networking websites) all day long?

    Its going to become a mass-advertising space very quickly.

    Theyl cotton on to the fact people dont mind paying for certain aspects if it gives them more of a personal status, or if it makes them become part of a more elite group of socialites.

    It will be enjoyable for a short space of time and be ruind by the people who take it to serious, the people that will make Home, their life.

    I agree with you mate. I do actually use Facebook but not much and its accessible to anyone with a PC unlike Home which only about 4 of my mates have. It will be interesting when it first launches as there will be loads of people there wandering around aimlessly but give it a few weeks and it will be the loneliest place in cyberspace I reckon.

    Guess I fall inbetween. The SIMS is shite boring but I am quite addicted to facebook (passes the time in the office!!). Like all these things it will be novel and entertaining for a few days and then I'll just not bother. If I have time at home and have turned my PS3 on I'd rather be playing a game - social networking can be done on paid time!!

    So that's "Second Life"? wouldn't be interested for quids, I also hate Sims, I have enough trouble running my OWN life let alone taking on another!!

    So basically we, as "hardened" (refuse to use hardcore, thats porn ) gamers all think this is a total waste of time? I must admit, now my PS3 seems to be struggling to stream movies, and I have two xboxes I'm even wondering whether its worth holding onto it. The novelty seems to be going quite quickly.

    Over a 100,000 beta invites are being sent out Sony to the SCEE region right now. Check your e-mails in the next couple of hours.

    I better get one. I have owned all of their consoles, often more than two times and with the PS3 I currently have 14 disc games and 3 network titles and use the PSN regularly.
