what tests/sites are you trying or using?
im going to assume that your using the home hub (im assuming that cos im sure i read it further back in this thread lol)
if you go in the homehub and check your sync speed thats much more reliable check of your speed, (if you didnt do it this way that is) after youve got a copy of the sync speed try plugging it directly into the test socket (its inside your master socket dont tell bt that you did this if they ask they own the socket and dont like people messing with them lol) and then check your sync speeds again post them in here (both the before and after) if your not sure what your looking for
from memory in the home hub you go to the networking section then the adsl or wan (although its about a year since i last faffed with a home hub so im probbaly wrong on where you need to go but im sure youll find it)
cas
how do i get to that were is it on the computer
does it make any difference i aint installed the software that came with hub
no non at all
just go to this to get access http://bthomehub.home/
then internet (i think its the 3rd option down) then select the internet services and then the broadband line (then the details -upper right hand corner)
hi bud must be different cant find internet option its the black hub i have 2.0 ithink
i think you have to go through the advanced option then you get the options
*here are the option in advance
* home
* services
* settings
* trouble
*
* Wireless
*
* Telephony
*
* Broadband
*
* Home Network
*
* Application Sharing

this is my line status is that wot im lookin for
Line state Connected
Connection time 0 days, 6:52:12
Downstream 8,128 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps
thats the one your sync'd at 8mb so you should be getting way faster than the 2mb your getting, (you could be being throttled at this time of night)
you shouldnt have any problems with the bt vision from them m8, if your plugged in to the test socket there, you could have a problem with your wiring and or filters if you werent plugged into the test socket then try speedtest.net (ive always found this site reliable but like i said you could be being throttled at this time of night)
if i were you id ring bt and order it if they say your not fast enough quote your sync speed

thanks for all your help so wot is my best option i am using the net wirelessly does that slow it down i will try the master socket again the mora as me tools are back in shed cheers again buddy still cant see why i only get to if you say it syncd at 8 meg
this is wot the test gave 2 minutes ago 456.7 Kb
youve got 2 this that can be (one that will be) slowing you down the speed takes a big hit when your using wifi with any protection (be it wep or wpa) and 2nd you could be getting throttled after seeing the sync speed i wouldnt bother with the test socket m8 you dont need it your line is plenty fast enough (i dont think bt offer anything faster for residental customers infact)
id retry the speedtest over a wired connection to see how much your wep/wpa is slowing you down and if its still slow try it afte 11:30 to 12 tonight and if you are being throttled it should be removed around that time (bt are closed by that time though they shut at 10 i think)
okm8 will give it a go thanks again buddy hopefully wired will sort it out wil post me results
its ok m8 you dont have to keep saying thanks (youve said it twice on this page alone lol)
