    Wii Dual charging remotes

    Mornin all!

Been searching for opinions on wii dual charging stations.
Having looked about there are a fair few on the market, none of which are endorsed by Nintendo but all seem to have associated horror story comments attached as reviews to to the likes of amazon and play.
E.g. Controllers stop working/ chargers catch fire/ blow up etc

I was wondering if peeps would take the opportunity to divulge their experience with charging stations and recommendations?

I was originally looking at going down the Nyko route, but after reading the comments at Play I am really considering something else!

    Cheers

I have two different sets for my 4 controllers. 1 I got from Game, the other from Woolworths, the Woolies one was bloody cheap, can't remember, but cheap none the less, the Game one slightly more expensive. With the Woolies one you plug the console into a base unit, plug the power in the back and the wiimotes plug in on the side, it holds 2 and has slots to hold 2 nunchuks, but I can't get them to fit (plus I have 4 ). The Game one plugs in via the USB I think, so it is a separate unit attached via a thin (i.e. very breakable by kids) wire. If you have young children I would recommend the Woolies one as all the kids can plug the units into that, but the Game one is slightly more difficult for them. Personally, I prefer the woolies one

Thanks BBK :-) Looking for one of the dual chargers that has a seperate PSU. Anyone else had experience here as I don't want to buy something that kills remotes?
    cheers

Just about to search for info regarding remotes not working as my two have died now and they have been on a dual charger for a month or two.

I got the dual charger when I got the Wii from Argos as aprt of a package. It plugs into the back of the Wii by USB.

At the moment, I went to use the Wii this afternoon and the remotes are not working. I press A and they flash about 8 or nine times then nothing. I have put batteries into them but they won't work either. Wondering if the charging unit is the problem now after reading this.

    Hi Ekkl,

Sounds as if the chargers have killed your remotes. I would be inclined to go straight back to Argos and get them replaced.
This is half the reason I posted the thread! If you look at dual chargers and feedback across the web you will see lots of horror stories like this.
This is the reason I am still using normal batteries :-( Rather pay the money and get one endorsed by Nintendo than one that could catch fire being cheap Chinese crap with no CE markings, or units that over charge and kill remotes.
Seems that Nintendo just don't want to back a market in rechargable batteries for their products.
Now I have a wii fit same thing applies!

Get yourself a battery charger and 8 rechargeable AA's from Aldi - they're 3 quid for 4. Saves pissing about with battery packs, plus, you'll be pretty safe from your house exploding in a mass Wii-mote detonation.
