Blackpool forward Alan Gow, on-loan from Scottish giants Rangers, played a pivotal role in the Seasider's 3-2 win over Derby County in last night's Championship clash at Bloomfield Road.

Having scored one and set-up two goals last night, the Scotland B international was lauded by his Tangerines team-mates who compared him to some of the greatest footballers of all-time.

"He's like a young George Best," said Ben Burgess, scorer of last night's third goal.

"He was unbelievable. I said to him during the first half, 'Wow, you're brilliant'."

He continued: "We know how good he is because we see it in training. He was excellent and probably the difference between the two sides."

Gary Taylor-Fletcher also had words of praise for the Scottish forward after Gow provided him with an assist for Blackpool's second goal.

"He is like Pele," remarked Taylor-Fletcher.

"You give him the ball and he very rarely loses it. He was involved in all three goals and was superb."

Manager Simon Grayson revealed that the Seasiders have agreed a deal with Rangers to complete a permanent deal for Gow in the next transfer window, which might come as great news to Blackpool fans.

"There is a fee agreed," said Grayson.

"We have got him on loan until January and we can make that permanent at any time. But the fee is sorted so we'll just have to wait and see what happens in between now and then."
