    Default TUTV Cams

    Hi,

A friend has just got a nice shiny new TV, and he's asked me about Top Up TV. I know nothing of it...

He said that his TV has a cam slot, and he reckons the TUTV cam is £80.

I have an old OnDigital cam somewhere at home, which as far as I can tell is gonna be much the same thing?

If he puts it in his TV with legit working TUTV card will it decrypt the premium channels etc?

If not what cam should he get? Something tells me the TUTV is gonna be a normal cam with a TUTV sticker on it..

I think TUTV is seca2 whereas the old OD was seca1.

Using a TUTV cam also allows him to subscribe to Setanta for an extra cost should he wish.

EDIT: Looking at this tho http://www.topuptv.com/tvplus/index.html it seems the CAMs are no longer commercially available.

However the cams supplied for a Setanta subscription are the same as the old TUTV ones.

So if he gets a Setanta CAM from eBay, will the TUTV card then work?

There's not much live content on during the day/evening, all of it is overnight, the tutv service is designed to be an overnight vod service that downloads content to the anytime box which you watch when you want.

There's not much point in having the cam for it, unless he just wants a setanta subscription

    Did this work mate?

I have a spare one since moving to BT vision, an official TUTV one sent by Setanta.
