    Wanted Soldering specialist (smt) required

I have a job which may be a piece of cake for someone who has great soldering skills - mine are pretty poor tbh.

I have a htc universal (smartphone). One of the internal mini usb connections has broken. Problem is that it's lifted the pad, and the trace from it has also lifted for around 2mm and is also disconnected from the pad.

The device comes in quite handy to me so I would love to get it repaired, but there will be a much better replacement at the end of the year so I don't want to spend loads buying another already 3 year old device.

I would like to send it to someone who can do smt soldering all day long, as it looks like it could be tricky for a layman.

Here's a pic. Sorry it's blurred but I took loads and that's the best one.

Couldn't you make a small patch lead from the usb connector rail (By-passing the pcb pad) straight to the cap/resistor mate?

Thanks for the suggestion, but there's no way I could solder that myself.

Also even if I could, this thing often gets dropped and stuff so that's why I'm happy to pay a few quid to someone who can do a mint job so it has a better chance of lasting longer.

I've had a few other HTC units where the USB breaks off. Quite common.
Instead of fixing this how about buying my HTC Kaiser/TYTN II??!!

ok i see the problem and to be honest with the type or damage you detail then burner is right as it would bypass the broken track and stop any more delamination of the contection from the circuit board plus a small fly wire would be better a taking the shock of a drop as technically it will just be a floating connection soldered at both ends

if you want to send it i will do the job for fun no charge all i ask is you cover the postage if thats ok .

email me a phone number to the address i sent to you in the pm and i will call you to make arrangements if you so wish

    thanks
