    Thanks guys.

I was looking at the cyclo but decided the extra cost was a bit much for me. Have supplied TTDS cards to ppl before but used to get a few DOA's so ive bought an acekard2 from dealextreme.

Ok, getting bored of fiddling with my original R4, is the Acekard2 still the one to go for, or is it worth paying the extra for a Cyclo? (Or is there some crazy new stuff that I don't know about yet?)

    Cheers.

Yup. AceKard2 would be my choice. I've ordered 3 AckeKards now and one R4.

The R4 was probably a clone but the aceKard2 was great. I think in terms of ease of use and user friendliness the AceKard2 wins. It also has an ipod interface for playing music too. Kinda nice little touch.

But Yeah.... AceKard is the one to go for......

ive had 5 or 6 different flash carts, and to be honest i thought they were all ok

    R4 (original)
    M3DS Simply (broke on me)
    DSTT (broke on me)
R4i 1.4 (in my old ds)
M3Zero (my current one in main ds)

i know the R4i are clone cards but they work with all the new games known to have problems that i have thrown at it, cost me about £70 for 10 R4is from deal extreme and that included EMS shipping so certainly cant complain at the price

Sorry to quote myself- seems a bit of a cockish thing to do, but, I decided that my previous post was crap and that I love my old R4! The "fiddling" that I need to do with it is minimal and not a pain at all.

I'm half way through the new Mario RPG and an hour or so through the new Zelda too. Both working fine- as is everything else!

I know its late, but just been asked for an R4i (or better equivalent) for DSi, and also 2 R4's.
Which is the best cart for DSi, and also DS ATM? I was using R4 original from long time ago, so not up to speed on DS.

Also best place for a pre Xmas delivery - if at all possible.

    Thanks in advance.

Aekard 2i will work with all ds's (as long as you update the card) and it has a very good menu and good compatability. I would get from 7dayshop.com if you want to make sure you get it. I use dealxtreme a fair bit but delivery is not always reliable.

Why would a DS flash card need any more support at this time? Its not as if there will be any new games that it will need updating for.

If you are talking about using the card in a 3DS, thats different but maybe they have their resources used up on better 3DS ideas....

with the latest firmware on 3ds 4.4.0 or 4.5.0 (cant remember which) they cant get the current cards working with it according to internet sources and the 3ds side of things with the current cards is dead. from what i read they are producing a new cart.

well AVOID ACEKARD2i like the plague m8 they are DEAD and they have done a runner.

also r4i have pulled a sneaky one and stopped firmware for older carts (even the 5.0 which only stopped production a few months ago) this means that with the new 6.3 fw none of the older cards will work in it. they are releasing a new version which they will be updating firmware. its annoying really because they are forcing you to buy the new cards

I still use R4i-SDHC cards no problem. Like det says you need you need the new card which will work on 6.3fw assuming your 3DS has the latest firmware on it. A lot of the time the cards can be flashed to work again on newer firmware, although the older cards cant be flashed to work on 6.3fw. Also new card software is still updated monthly to patch certain games etc

    Thanks to dannyboy
