Went into a Sony shop yesterday and enquired about the price of the 52W4500, the sales rep told me that the price of Sony tv's was going up by some 30% in the new year - and that other manufacturers would follow.

My brother mentioned that he'd read an article on the BBC website that said the same - they cited the problem as being the price of the pound against the yen, Sony are taking the hit at the moment.

If anything tv prices may be going up, i'm looking to spend the best part of 2k on a tv, was hoping to hold out for price drops but not so sure anymore.

I'd pay the extra and get a 4500. The 100mhz motion flow is completely apparent when you see the two sets next to each other.
