    Question Blackberry Storm

    Hi,

Has anybody actually got one of these yet? I had a play on one in the local Vodafone store today and it seemed pretty nice. I actually got used to the click typing on the touch screen quite quickly. They had sold out and they couldn't tell me if there was any decent Mac software for it so I couldn't pick one up today anyway.

On the face of it the Storm looks like it does everything I want. I just don't want to get in to an 18 month contract with the wrong phone. The other phone is the iPhone 3G of course as I wouldn't consider a WinMo based phone from past experience.

    Any positives or negatives?

    Thanks

    Paul

You might want to take a look at the tariffs as 02 offer unlimited data plan. IMO you just cant beat. I also cant decied which one to get myself! If you like touchscreen phones then get the Storm! Aint really seen it up front but it just looks awsome.

O2 def. offer the better deal on the data package that is for sure. From what I have read on Crackberry it seems those who have got them seem to think awesome hardware but there a lot of problems with the software (first thing to go seems to be Vodafone Live software). Battery life also seems to be an issue with some people reporting a full charge when they go to bed at night and then the phone being dead by the time they get up the following morning

Tariff wise I was looking at the free phone for £40 per month with 600mins and unlimited text and data (even though it is actually only 500Mb).The iPhone has better support on my Mac (obviously) than the Blackberry though I believe this is going to get better soon with some new software from RIM. The iPhone 8Gb is going to cost me £45 per month and I have to pay for the phone as well! I'll get push email from my .me account and from our Exchange server. When I had a play on the Storm at the Vodafone shop I really liked the click screen for typing on. I already have an iPod Touch though so I know what it is like to type on an iPhone. The lack of wifi on the Storm and only 500Gb is a major turn off.

Something is still drawing me to Blackberry though. Probably just just want to be different.

If Wifi is coming then that's it, I'm waiting. Thanks for the info Mobileman.

And of course a lot (I hope) of the bugs will be ironed out.

I doubt any phone has a screen big enough for internet browsing. You just learn to live with it or give up.

    I don't like it.

Got it in at work a week ago from Vodaphone and the whole screen is like one big button. Play around with it if you can before buying.

ULTRA DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE:FACT

well it finally got here today and within 5 mins i knew it was going back--the touch screen is the worse i,ve had the pleasure in touching -(A TOUCH SCREEN CLICKER?)

theres no way on this earth that you can speed type with this because of this click crap.

the features and shit are pretty funky don,t get me wrong but typing is a complete nightmare-took me like 30seconds to type me email address.

gotta say the iphone is still up there as the best touch screen by far.

    KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PHONE

Thank you for spoiling everyones christmas!! lol, nah cheers though, really needed a review from someone who actually has the phone. If the screen is not better than Iphone then simply not worth it. On the other hand is the display better than iphone's??
