Samsung Virgin Box remote stopped working

Evening All,

Having a nightmare if a day already but now to top it all the Remote has packed in.
It's the silver samsung virgin box with the newer style blue remote.
It was working fine then when changing channel the menu stayed on all the time and now when i ever press a button the standby button just flashes orange.
I have tried the batteries and unplugging everything.
If anyone here can help it would be great.

sounds more like a box problem that a remote.....try powering up the box with the standby button on the front of the box

this will confirm if its box or remote, stuck in standby is a common fault on this model

Mines done this yesterday. I switched everything offf and left it for an hour and switched it back on and was fine.

Standby button flashing orange on the remote does mean dead batteries, you sure the ones you replaced them with were fully charged?

The box is working fine from the buttons on the front, so i reckon it must be the Remote.
I'm gonna get some good batteries today to rule out these cheapo ones i have.
I'll give this and try and Repost later,,,,,

Finally sorted,
Was the cheapo batteries i have bought!!!!
Won't be getting them again.....
