what version of the R4 have you got? The genuine R4 version 2? Or one of the many clones that are around?

all that on the r4 and the box is r4 revolutionn for ds (ndsl/ nds) micro sd 2.0

If he has only just brought it then surely the 1.18 should already be preinstalled on it? It was on mine.
