    Default Vista activation problems

    Lo all,

Ive got a cracked copy of Vista x64 ultimate with SP1 that was a pre-cracked edition. Installed and working fine until just now when it turned the desktop wallpaper to black and is telling me that i need to activate windows today. Is there any way or curing this? I dont really wanna reinstall the copy of windows i have if its just gonna do this again. Suggestions anyone?

    cheers,
    DJ

Have you tried using a different crack. I used one called vista loader.

Right I think i've sorted it, with the help of DF as usual lol.

    From this thread http://www.digital-forums.com/showth...ight=vista+x64

I downladed and installed this http://www.4shared.com/file/59295820...ader_3001.html

and now its says I'm activated, just doing an update from M$ now and all seems to be working!

BBL - I'm sure my flat mate managed to activate his lappy with XP the other week, I'll ask him when I see him n drop you a PM if I have any helpful info.

Waka - Thanks for the link.
I've tried running it but get a Windows Script host error.
could be because I am running in safe mode.
Are you using the Vista Ultimate Dell OEM SP1install of vista?
If so how did you get the crack to run?

    Cheers

    Hi Tom,
I did have the Dell ultimate DVD install (can't remember if it was SP1 tho). I definitely didn't install it in safe mode - although I did turn off all the UAC crap ages ago! Maybe I shouldn't have done because I've had two months of crashes and 'unexpected errors'...so i've now gone back to XP lol
