Setup was unable to open infomation file
All,
I am having a nightmare with a new install of XP Pro. I have customised it etc... and I am now trying to install IIS, however when I goto Add/Remove windows components I get the following error:
Setup was unable to open infomation file eraser.inf
WTF!?!?!?! Any ideas.

Being unable to open .inf files is invariably down to registry corruption, and I'd be thinking that even more so now I've seen that registry cleaning proggy in your screenshot.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car

Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

I tried that as I was desperate
Just re0installed everything now and all ok. Nice waste of a few hours!!!

Bit late now but your windows components are all installed from the c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf file.
Removing the line with eraser.inf on it would have sorted your problem.

All working fine (touch wood) right now. Managed to transfer my SQL database over and my ASP.Net site with ease, plus I now have a nice little home server that plays HD content without fuss, I no longer need to burn discs!!
