Been posted before mate, best drive is £32.99 + delivery here.

I hacked mine a few weeks ago, very easy, but was wondering how to copy my data over. Using the Xecuter HDD adapter I followed this guide and it worked perfectly!

Does this effect DRM? i.e. Will bought downloadable xbl game work offline once this is transferred?

Accoring to the tut I used mate:

I just discovered one other step that you have to do if you want to be able to download videos off XLB Marketplace, or watch videos you've already downloaded.... goto the System Blade, select the hard drive, goto system items, choose "rights database" and delete it.

If you don't you'll probably get a very annoying error about media usage rights and won't be able to watch or download DRM encrusted videos.

A 1tb drive wouldn't work anyway mate, as they're 3.5" drives, and you need a 2.5" drive for the 360, which are only available up to 500gb at the 'mo.

You can only hack a drive if you have the M$ HDSS file, so the limit will always be the largest HDD M$ have officially released.

I doubt it will be a problem, you don't have to have a modified console to do this HDD hack. If M$ ban you because they originally sold you an overpriced HDD that was too small to use their future updates effectively there will be a lot of pissed off consumers, and some will probaly take action against them.

I ordered a bevs drive, set my compatibility mode to legacy in my bios and flashed it using hddhacker.

It seemed to go fine and asked me to reboot and try it again. After doing so, it tells me again that it needs flashing, i say yes to a undo file and get the following error when running it again:

Fatal Error: The EC string was not found in the FW

    anyone come across this?

EDIT: Please ignore, after turning the pc completely off and on again its picked it up correctly and confirmed it can be used in a 360.

Fervernova did you actually get this changing the HD done m8???

this is the bit i dont get, i thought hddhckr CREATED the hdss.bin when you do the very first command, but i see someone asking where to get it???.

thats wot it says here anyway

Now run 'hddhackr -d'. This will create a file 'hddss.bin'
and it will save it to the path you've started the hddhackr from.
so wots the score with this guys as i really want to try get this done

You need a 120gb hddss.bin, either you create your own from another 360 120gb drive that you have (if you have access to one) or you get a use an existing 120gb hddss.bin file and use that to flash your WD Bevs 120gb drive.

The first part of the tutorial talks about dumping your own, of course, if you have access to the file you can skip that part.
