    PSP Getting my psp back!

Well my old psp is coming back to me (original Japanese 1.5 unit) and i'm quite excited about all of the psp developments since the last time I had my hands on it. I have a pandora battery and I have the software to sort out the memory stick (thanks rap) so I think i understand that side of things and i'll spend the weekend fiddling about trying to get everything working.

What I am interested in is emulation and the ability to play psx games through the machine. I remember being able to play snes games (so i guess I'll need a emu for that again) but what is the deal with playstation games, will the machine play all of them? I was reading something about the need to map controls for some games to the psp button layout? I also have a playstation 3 can I play emu/psx/psp games via the ps3 on my lcd screen?

I'm also planning on hunting down a 8gb pro duo card (I think they are available for less than 40 now) however, I like the idea of the microsd to pro duo converter, as microsd's are quite cheap, is this system worth it or should i just stick with pro duo?

Hope someone can point me in the right direction...

ah one more thing, psp games from newsgroups do they need to be patched or are they pre-patched ready to play straight off the memory card?

    Cheers,

    Cue.

    Hi there

I got a Microsd to Pro converter and a 8 gig card works perfect, but there has been a few reports of crap sd converters, mine came from mobymemory and is ok though in fact better than my actual pro duo card no skipping in fifa, games you can just run there fine as iso's as long as your running the new firmware theres no prob as they will just nag to update if its not removed.

I opted for the pro duo memory as opposed to a convertor, one less thing in the chain to go wrong.

I got a 4 gig off play dot com for around £17 so I imagine they (or the likes of deal extreme) will be doing a decent 8 gig pro duo memory for a good price. Steer clear of ebay for them though.

The games I grab off NG's are usually .ISO's which you simply copy to the stick and work out the box, never had to do much with them apart from transfer them.

As for PSX games on the psp, I've had a few converted ones DL'd from NG's and it's hit and miss wether they work at all or crash in a game depending on how they were converted.

I've no idea what you can do via the ps3 mate... haven't got one.

That's right mate.. same as if you DL a file with .cso extention, just copy it to the psp folder

I think i might just go for a 4gb card as well, nothing on the psp or ps1 (game wise) comes in at more than 4gb so i'll save myself a few quid as well

iso,sco go in the iso folder psx eboots go in the psp/game folder
if you wanna rip your own psx games use imgburn to rip to iso then use psx2psp to convert them to eboot.

psx2psp seems to be the best at converting
