Like the finance bloke on talksport said this morning what do woolies sell nowadays that you can't get elsewhere? It's a shame but they seem to have plodded on while others diversified, or people like tesco & asda moved in on their patch while also being there for the groceries.
I will be a bit sad to see them go but it's more nostalgia than anything else. Who knows, if they can remain open over Christmas then they could pull in a fair bit of cash.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
It is sad to see them go but the reason is because people simply don't shop there any more so I suppose we are all to blame!!
tbh im not sad about woolworths going, you have to shop where the bargains are, just sad about the job losses
A lot of shops will close as most people i know never leave the house to shop, why face the hassle of busy shops when you can get everything cheaper online delivered to your door.
We Only Need Nine men, we only need nine men.
woolies will be open until jan at least. the stock will have already been bought and the next 6 weeks are easily their busiest in the year. the receiver will know this and keep them open, even if its with skeleton staff. I would expect some clearance bargains
i would hate to be working for them
no job prospects at all
