Default Some advice please: car kit for Apple iPod nano

    Hi guys.
bought the wifey a 16gb ipod nano for chrimbo.
She drives a peugeot 206 on a V plate, which has the factory fit stereo /6 cd changer thing in the boot.
Can anyone advise me on the best options for a car kit for her please?
Is there a generic one that can be wired- or do i go for the plug and play with the fm converter?

    Thanks in advance IBB xx

depends on how much you want to spend

entry level to mid look at the harmon kardon drive + play http://www.harmankardon.com/drive-1/default_dp1.aspx

higher up range look at the denision ice link http://www.dension.com/icelinkplus.php

both work really well for the prices involved

Got the dension kit for my iphone and love it, simple and easy..... chuck it in the cradle and it charges and plays with ease via my car stereo....

Cost around £150 though but well worth it and sound quality is awesome

and car kit wise go for a parrot ck3000 evo or if she wants an lcd go for ck3100

streaming music from ipod via bluetooth to the car kit is also option if so go for MKi9000 by parrot or MK6100 http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits

I can second the suggestion for the Harman Kardon Drive and Play, as I have have one and love it.
You get a screen showing what's playing and a jog wheel to control it, it's very ipod-like in use.
They can be picked up off ebay for about 25 quid now which is a bargain. If your stereo has phono inputs then the kit includes all you need, otherwise you may nay an interface specific to your car. (Mine cost about 30 quid for a Connects2 interface, connects to the cd changer interface) Piece of piss to fit, just a case of running wires behind the dash and plugging in behind your stereo. They also come with an FM modulator that plugs into the aerial socket on the back back of your radio, but it didn't sound very good when I tried that option.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon.

yeah, i thought of changing the head unit, but being a peugeot, it's got a seperate display screen in the dash and changing the head unit will effectively disable it.

My apologies, I obviously don't have a clue about what I am talking about and have zero knowledge about Dension iPod interfaces.

    Sorry for being so stupid.

I'll pm you all on Monday when I am back at work. Work being the UK distributor and part owner of Dension.

As for pricing, with everything you buy there is a cost of manufacture, a cost of distribution, a cost of development, a trade price and a retail price. The cost to trade and manufacturers or even to us from Dension is absolutely nothing to do with you or this thread.

I will no doubt speak to you tomorrow
been following this thread and have you ever considered going into politics as reading your replies is like listening to a government spin doctor.
If you don't know the answers then just say so as I can't see how a straight answer would have taken any longer than the reply you gave and not deprived your family of you time and I also got the impression from your quote:

you had an interest in the company rather than just being a salesman that worked for a company that stocked it products and also had a financial interest in it.

Rant Re: Some advice please: car kit for Apple iPod nano

If i'm condemning ultra without jusitifcation then I apologise,
but it's been a week now and i've heard nothing from him despite his original offer as a result of my OP.
I've pm'd him several times and have heard nothing other than him promising he'd PM me the prices last Monday.
To be fair, he hasn't been on all week, but I'm starting to think that PSX was right all along.
Either way, Fuck you very much Ultra- you've effectively left me with 1 week less than I originally had to sort this for the wife's chrimbo prezzie.

So you think helping DF members is fucking them about then not bothering to reply and I did check you came on the next day.
