Buy, Sell, Trade section = (Idea)

Just had an idea regarding this section, taken from another forum I use (so not a new idea).

Can the OP for the people selling/trading remain edit/delete free?

What I mean by this is when a person lists something for sale they cannot delete/edit things, they could add but not delete/edit. This will stop people from deleting things from a package sale and denying knowledge of it ever being there in the first place.
Don't know if this has happened in the past, but could be a good add on to stop it happening in the future.

Just a thought.

If you are interested the quote the message in a reply in thread and there are no questions. Also the OP will show as being edited anyway and if anything goes wrong then staff will sort it out.

Why? I was making a point that there isn't one and suggested a perfectly workable solution to a problem I haven't seen manifest itself here. There are plenty of controls in the BST including the iTrader plugin that are there to give buyers a level of confidence in what is going on. I would have thought the recent Breamy debacle proves that we take trading issues very seriously and have great mods in the section.

What happens if a genuine seller joins DF and hasn't sold anything on here but is a VIP. You want the item but you don't know whether to trust.

Thats why I posted what I did, and I never once doubted the Mods abilities.

I think the thing here is you make your own mind up whether to trust someone or not based on your natural instincts. Am sure most of the board would have happily dealt with Breamy and look how the little cunt behaved. If a member is VIP then they have paid for the privilege and whatever they sold, or didn't as the case may be, would have to be the VIP fee plus a reasonable profit to make it worthwhile. Would you buy something for 50 quid off someone who had five posts, VIP or not?

the same thing applies to fleabay - you make you own judgement whether to trust someone who has no feedback. Just depends what sort of item it is.
Just take a print screen of the thread if your in any doubt then let the mods deal with it.
