Scary to think my boy is now over 9 months old. Shot these as presents for the in laws and grand parents. Also constructing a bump to one book for them too.

All shot on my 40D with sigma flash bounced off the ceiling, post pro work done in Lightroom v1.4 and CS3. Think the exif data is still intact.

Excellent narrative, the last 3 shots are great mate. The first looks like the focus is on the bottom eye though, and I think it would have been more effective on the top eye but that's just personal opinion. Love all 3.

Just for interest sake, do you touch up your boy's skin or does he moisturise?
What are you using to touch up his skin, just a gaussian blur layer with masked soft brushing, or are you using Portrait Professional or other software?

The last 3 are simply stunning. I agree about the focus on the eye in the first one and the last one seems to have a bit too much blue in the eyes but they are very very good photos mate.

EXIF is still intact as well. Were you using a Nifty 50 F1.8 or an F1.4 model? Or, where you adjusted in to 50mm?

Cheers for the feedback guys, have to agree ont he eye, and it annoys me, it was focused on the lower eye when he was first in that pose with his head tilted slightly back so the bottom eye was the predominate one and the lack of focus would have been acceptable, but the swine moved, must use more sedative next time!!.

The blue eye in the last did look a little ott at first to me but when I desaturated them a little more it lost some impact. Will see what it looks like when printed to 20x30 next week.. Hope the in laws like my choice of image and size, with frame it will be around 40 inches wide.. Also to pick more fault in my own work I wish his gaze was directly at the camera not at his mother who was just over my shoulder. Bloody women.

Yeah your right it was my nifty fifty (f/1.8 version) it is my only lens at present, both my sigma's (28-70 f/2.8 and 18-35 f/2.8) are in for repair and my Tokina 12-24 was on loan. Hence why some of the shots are little close as it was cramped working knelt down beside the bed. Did move him away slightly but then he had a habit of dive bombing off the bed onto the floor, which i believe is not a good thing.

Overall I am pretty pleased with them, will be happier once christmas days comes and they are received as gifts. There's a few niggles with them which i hope to iron out for the next sitting around his first birthday in Feb. But thanks for the feedback so far.
