I voted "one of those things". Im not sure that the current Government could have done anything to stop the current financial crisis other than prevent financial institutions investing in the sub-prime mortgages, legislating who can have a credit card and how much credit, and legislating against mortgages over 90% (as an example). Also not getting involved in illegal American wars would have been a good idea, but I think maybe our Government was put under rather a lot of undue pressure that we dont know about - either that or Blair was a complete cunt. Also, some of the problems we are facing now is, I believe, a direct result of Thatcher's decision to privatise the utilities, and again there's nothing the Government can realistically do about that now. I think now we have to just ride this out, and hope that once we start to recover, housing prices have gotten back to a realistic level where first time buyers can buy a small house or 2-bed flat for under £100k.
It's jut one of thoose things. Its happned before and we have recovered.
I think it is hard to look beyond, it being 'one of those things' typical boom and bust.

I have no debt no credit cards no overdraft and I have just spent the last 4 years saving up a bit of money only to have it devalued as banks keep loaning money to wankers who never repay it yet i suffer!
There is no fucking justice!
Oh yea and now im out of a job
I've gone for "one of those things" too.
Unfortunately it's the way of the media these days to over-exaggerate situations to the point of creating unnecessary widespread fear, panic and disillusionment. They have hyped this up to almost Armageddon-like status but as far as I can tell the world's still turning? Yes there is an economic downturn but that's nothing that hasn't happened before.
We will survive.
I spent yesterday afternoon watching "an esoteric agenda". If you believe only half of what that goes on about, then we be fucked frankly.
Unfortunately ive lost a few quid in this fiasco ,but its just one of those things that will keep on happening regardless of risk assessments ,i think Roach hit the nail on the head with the media storm causing something more than the original damage ,leaving investors panicking without confidence in the economy .
