    Bullet,

All you have to do is get a piece of wire (Kynar) and put one end in the hole beneath the 2 pads you are bridging. If its the left pair you have lost, put the wire in the hole and solder the other end to the top pad near the Sata ports RxD. Connections.

Or the right pads put the wire in the hole beneath and then solder the other end to the bottom TxD pad.

    hi mate

thanks alot for the reply, not sure about putting wire through the hole, never done it before. if i was to mess that up i could be stuck with a knackered drive...

i think i may need to find someone who could do it for me...

    Thanks alot

AD, just for info, the "left pair" do not need to be bridged, only the "right pair" is actualy required.

Unless you want to go back in the drive when the firmware is finally released, I do both.

I know the drive has been flashable for quite a while now (just there is nothing yet to flash to it), but I hadnt heard that the flash method was going to be through the serial interface....have you heard this is definitely going to be the case ? I might as well start bridging the other point again while im in there if thats the case I guess.

I only made the point anyway because the OP was just concerned about getting his key, and therefore only needed to be advised on the minimum to get him fixed up.

AD, you have probably read by now that c4e says the flashing is sata, and only the key extraction is serial. You can move to only working on one point now.....should save you about 10 seconds ;-)
