BBC iPlayer abroad?

A friend of mine has emigrated to Spain and recently all the Satellite services have been shut down due to ex-pats illegally ripping off the satellite companies. He does recieve BBC still though.

I realise the BBC is only really available to license fee payers, but with all this access appearing on iPhones and stuff, is it possible to connect from Spain yet?

IIRC all iPlayer content is limited to UK IP addresses however there's nothing stopping you setting up a local proxy for him to connect via.
