Leo... Who told you it's against the law??

That's bollox... It's totally legal to take pictures of anything (including children whether yours or not) in any public place. Anyone who challenges you tell them to fuck off.

If you're at a private venue, or private land, then check their rules on photography but public places (this includes parks and beaches) are totally fair game.

Its was in the wrong section m8- "Your pictures and artwork" isnt the place for this.

EDIT - Moved to "Talk about Photography" section.

Ah, hang on... Did you mean "Adventure Playground" as in the indoor softplay type? In that case yes, it's a private venue and they have strict no photography rules. If you're talking about an outdoor playground in a park, then my first post applies.

I've experienced that feeling before mate.. down a local play park, wanting to get some summer snaps of my kids and clicking away only to get a few 'ladies' looking at me with a snarl like I'm some fucking paedo.

It would probably be no problem if it was a female taking pics of their kids though.

This is unfortunately becoming all too common nowdays. When my little lad is old enough to be taken to the park, I'll be taking the camera and big sign saying, "he's my son, this is a public area, I'll take photos of my own child, if you don't like it, go fuck yourself"

...on a serious note, I'll challenge ANYONE who tries to stop me taking photos of my child. I always carry a copy of the Guide to photographers rights in the UK. If anyone questioned me, they'd be given a copy of it and told to toddle off.

Not trying to excuse any wrong doing but I think it's more the tabloids fault.

It is stupid over-protective Britain. Not sure why a paedo would get kicks from the sort of photos you can get freely on the internet though... (I mean the tasteful pics like you were taking of your own kids)

I too would stand up for myself and tell anyone challenging me taking photos of my own kids to fuck off. The media started it but they are ignorant for just following along with the whole scare tactics.

    it's getting stupid
if you take a photo with a compact or a phone nobody bats an eyelid but once the slr comes out people seem to object
i take photo's of my lot regardless i don't care what people think
granted in restricted places you have to abide by the rules but in public feck em

i agree it's the media hype thats killed it
lets face it if ped0es want photo's there not going to be hanging round your local park with a slr wrapped round it's neck

can't be mythered with it all
