Secret keylogging & screen grabbing app

I have to take my lappy into uni to get software loaded onto it but the technicians are claiming it will take a few hours to install the programme (Bullshit). I suspect they wanna have a good ole nose through the laptop before installing. I wanna install an app to see exactly what there upto with it whilst they have it, anyone recommend any good free apps. Something that will remain hidden as they are supoosed IT technicians after all and may look for running processes.

What are they installing that could possibly take a few hours? Unless the laptop is the Unis property I'd tell them you want to be there for the install. I have nothing I want to hide on my laptop but I would never leave it with someone to have a nose through as it would be like an invasion of my privacy.

They said it will take a few hours as they have to test the software etc, of course there blaggin like. Theres nowt on the lappy worth them looking at but I just wanna know if they do have a nose around the lappy with them saying it will take that long, like beerman says, its a bit like a privacy invasion.

I've used Ardamax before on a few systems, you can have that upload the keystrokes made to FTP, Word Document, Network Drive, Text File etc ... works really well.

Thats only if they are to type things though.

the reason they say it'll take an hour is coz they'll have to do a full virus scan on it before they can connect it to their network... that'll pick up any installed key loggers too...

Why would they need to connect it to install the software? Yeah it's probably on a network share but surely they can just use a disc?

Probably. It's more work and costs the price of a cd to burn a disc though...

LOL@ B B Leo, If i had anything to worry about do you think Id even be taking it in for them to have a nose. I was merely concerned that I know its a disc that will be used to load it on and the few hours got me thinking, so i thought lets see exactly what there upto.

I always see the worst in ppl and just assume they wanna nose through the pc, Im sure they think Im a stalker as Im always round the labs, do you think its best i delete my Dexter episodes and the Dummies guide to murder off my hard drive?

does screen shots etc. etc. Even though you can change the name of the executable, any decent AV will pick it up.

If they even question a keylogger etc I will say its there for me n the missus to keep tabs on the kids internet use.
