    Help SE C905 charging issue

Can any C905 owners let me know how long their phone lasts per charge? My gf got a new one a couple of days ago and it needs charging twice a day, it drains battery like nothing else, even when left doing nothing. Im sure this can't be normal, but would like to know what normal should be. Cheers.

Mine lasts about 1.1/2 days before it needs a charge but it goes down to 50% very quick then seems to stay there for a while before losing more.

Conditioning the battery is charging it fully then discharging it fully for a few times on first use, i.e. not recharging it until it is completely drained for the first few times. Not sure whether this is an 'urban myth' though for new types of battery, it used to be the case for nicads - not convinced that it's the same for lithium ion types now in use. But I'm sure mobileman knows the truth.

    Hope this helps.

Bit of both Pete, like you say used to be for nicads, but have to say that i personally have found it can really help a battery over a period of time.

also non gen chargers and car chargers really do fook the cells up on a battery, i have some info on this will dig out and post up.

I tend to condition the battery once a month or so and in 15 years have only ever had 2 new batterys due to faulty ones not holding charge.

A conservative estimate would put that at over 150 phones so must be some truth in it

As I said - Mobileman knows the truth. Nuff said.

I thank you Mobileman and I hold my hands up to your superior knowledge.

One day I will be able to post a reply on this board and feel like I have really helped in a way that my knowledge and experience has been useful to someone. I've been striving for this for seven years.

I'll still keep trying but with 50,000+ members on DF it's so hard, especially with the fact that 49,999+ members are so much cleverer than me.

now she's turned the wifi off yes its a very nice phone, a bit bigger than what she's been used to, but I guess if you want the camera then you accept it will be a little bigger than whats gone before. But yes, its a nice phone indeed, I would be tempted to get one myself but I think I'm sold on the X1 now

I'm really torn between the C905 and the X1. I love photography and I take loads of photo's for my work. I have been using a sony ericsson K800i until it got run over by a transit van the other day. But I also like the X1 'cos it is so internet friendly and I use Gmail a lot, again for work really. Anyone know whether the C905 is any good for webmail and browsing, if it's ok then C905 for me.
