FALSE! Any 360 drive can be spoofed as a Lite-On.

The BenQ would be preferable as I hear they are the quietest and most stable (may well be wrong! but in my experience my BenQ will play anything, even a copy that numerous of my sammys and hit's will not play at all or load incredibly slowly). But as Herman said any drive can be spoofed, BenQ's are hard to find whereas ebay has loads of hitachis and sammys.

The benq is the most similar to a Lite-on in terms or firmware. So in theory they are the best for spoofing a lite-on.

Benq's are meant to be shite though for games that require a lot of streaming and are apparently very slow at loading backups.

My personal choice would be an MS28, simply because you can flash them risk free over and over again with ease, so if you mess up your spoofing, you can simply have another go.

I have read that there are Benq drives flooding hong kong ebay sellers that contain the Lite-on (or similar) board, making them unflashable....so watch out for that.

i would go with a samsung, for me those are the most solid drives in terms of their lasers.
benq drives seem to wear out too quickly for me.

also as tronads said, there are some drives that look like a flashable benq on the outside, but inside have a liteon board, only heard of these coming from hong kong sellers.

Hitachi is hardest to flash, but the sweetest drive for playing with. Swapped my sammy for one ages ago!

Its the way it handles the SS files (security Sectors) that makes it less detectable than the others.....Well, the way others handle the SS that make it more prone to detection.

Benq / Sammy can both be recovered from bad flash VERY easily.

i dont know about the 79k but the 78k has to be the most easy peice of piss to do out them all lol, even i can do it

piss easy all done in windows with gui the lot, and a slax disk very very easy
