Great post, i jumped the gun a little early last week, ordered a 47'' LCD (getting delivered today), seen loads of bigger better screens since ordering

Never expected to see the price of these go so low

There is a voucher code for this on HotDeals and also Quidco...!!! looks like you may be able to get it under £500.

They are bastards for claiming back the money when they notice that the voucher is a duplicate, but worth a dabble...!

ye i could,nt believe it this morning when they sent the email so i called them and cancelled the 42"which was due 2moz.

as for the 1080p it makes no diffrence to me i don,t think u can tell at all really,i play 360 on 1080i on my 37" and its sweet as fook-seen 1080p on next doors and i really can,t tell the difference so happy fookin days.

and yes i fookin knew they would blow me off with a deal like this the fukas-good job they let me cancel and they did me the same deal of £378 due to the pissing about i had last week-took an hour on the phone but i got it.

i might add that at 1 point they were sending me 2 x lg 42" and 1 x samsung 42" only asked for 1

Its bound to be cheap as it is an old model. Early series 4 when they are up to series 7 now. My mate had this one up until a month ago when it blew and the fuckers were unable to fix it after replacing the entire innards and eventually gave him a Series 5 as a replacement. Was a great telly while it worked but the SD quality was a little shabby when watching footy and stuff on it.

Not strictly true, the series 4 are just the lower models in the current range, the 5, 6, and 7 series just have more features, ie 100hz, 1080P, etc, so the model on offer is either part of the current range, or a very recently discontinued model.

I have a 50" 720P Samsung plasma that I bought this time last year for £800'ish, and I absolutely love it! It's no Kuro, but it's brilliant for the price.

If your talking games then its probably because most 360 games run at 720p and your tv may just be taking a 1080i signal and downscaling it back to 720p again unless its full HD (1920x1080)

But anyhow geeeky facts aside, its a good deal. I bought a 52 inch sony W4500 last week, you can't beat tv on a 50+ inch screen.

    i need a bigger house.

the biggest telly i can get while not feeling like your sitting on top of it is a 37" and that dominates the room, so ive stuck with a sony bravia 32" but i can dream lol

how much the 50" cost to run in comparision with say a 32" lcd?

I just tried to use the discount code of XX424 off hotdeals.com

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/29116...-50in-freevie/

and it didn't work for me, been looking at a 50" for a bit now, been told to look out for 1080p, but like ppl say at this price it is cheap.

Plus you get £12.76 off due to VAT reducation, and p&p is £4.95 - so total is £591.19

I will have to see what the Mrs says, do a lot of people have problems with littlewoods?????

Think its hit and miss, ive heard alot of stories of people using codes and getting charged full price at a later date

Ive personally used a 20% off code on a £600 sofa so i got £120 knocked off, not heard nothing since, this was around 4 months back

Infact Littlewoods cocked up and cleared the £380 debt that i had to them for some reason

    Happy days

I think I will give it a miss for now then, 50" may be too big for the room...it will be my 2009 mission to get a bigger TV..
