Default Recommend a jewellers in London

I need to get a ring sorted for the miss, i was chatting to a jeweller i visiting oop north who had some great designs and fair prices.... but hes quoted me and must think im friggin looney!

Anyway ive done the Hatton Garden run and was blinded by the market bazarr that it is, i definitely dont want to do that again.

Anyone able to recommend somewhere reliable asap, pref sw london?

Pure Jewels in Forrest Gate would be my recommendation. They have a great website and you can collect and pay in store. I bought a platinum wedding band there for about 70% of the price the Hatton Cross boys were asking. When you've been researching and shopping around for weeks you develop a heightened sense of what things cost, and these guys were spot on.

    cheers Guys,
Ive given purejewels a call and they're on the case.

These were the prices for the stones that i was quotes, the mounts were 360 for gold or 675 for platinum.
If you've done some shopping you can see that the stones are overpriced.

For example, the below linky from GTIs recommendation is 0.7ct SI2 H and the whole ring with a better quality stone costs less than the stone on their own from the other place!

    http://www.purejewels.com/cat_id/DYO...ng-Bouquet.htm
    £2045

size Colour Ins per pt cost
    0.78 G SI2 3750 2925
    0.7 H PK1 1725 1207.5
    0.9 H SI2 4600 4140
    0.7 G/H SI3? 3100 2170
    0.7 G VS2 4400 3080

    I use Tiffany & Co.

You pays your moneys and make your choice.

Worth spending that little extra if it's someone very special no?

Yes i agree but a band is a band and a diamond is a diamond. If i can pick up the same diamond (all things equal such as weight, cut, clarity, colour) for a few hundred quid less then i would rather spend that money on something we can enjoy as opposed to lining the jewelers pocket for fun

I can highly reccomend one in Stow-on-the-Wold if you can be bothered with the hour or so drive - may be able to get you a decent rate on it too.

My family used to have an excellent contact in Hatton Garden but unfortunately he was shot dead.

I'll pm you a name and number for someone else.

see now that's how you and I think as men.

not sure you can apply the same logic to a woman... a band is a band, etc, etc, tends not to go down too well.

the fact that you bought her something a few hundred quid more, with a shitty tiffany blue box and a bow, and a leather bound T&c certificate, and the unique tiffanys claw and mount seems to have a very positive effect on women.

It's similar to why a man would choose a bmw or merc over a similar spec ford or vauxhall.

Think long term rather than short term is all I'll say.

We got our wedding ring from Tiffanys too, the service in there was great, and they aren't that bad as far as price is concerned. We got a platinum band with 8 small diamonds across the top, the missus loves it, and all the other women coo when they ask where it was from. Women love the kind of one-upmanship it brings

Plus the nice little blue box and the glass of champers you get whilst they box it up are kinda nice too!
