Default Airbag Warning Light Peugeot 307

Hope I can get a quick reply on this - I'm going to see a Peugeot 307 tomorrow morning & the seller says the only problem with the car is that the airbag warning light stays on. I've asked about it at my local peugeot garage & they will want £47-50 just to hook it up to the diagnostic computer.
Is this a fairly common problem (seen a few posts about airbag warnings on a 306) & is is something I might be able to sort out myself - any connections etc I can check ?

There are limited diagnostic tests you can carry out to ensure the ECU is functioning correctly, as well as continuity on the sensors themselves.

When the ABS malfunctioned on our car, it turned out to be nothing more than dirty sensors which were causing the air gap between the rotor & the sensor itself to be reported incorrectly.

If you want to post the exact model along with the year of first registration, I'll look up the test procedure for you.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

Didn't buy this car so don't need the test procedure now - thanks for the offer though.

my 307 (52, 1.6 rapier petrol) is doing the same. ABS and airbag lights. I know i'm going to have to clean the sensors for the abs issue, but can anyone elaborate on the airbag light issue please?

Are thes fitted with pretensioners on the seat belts?

If so, I know a common vauxhall problem was a loose/dirty connection under the seats on the plug. A quick disconnect, clean and refit often fixed this.
