Default Looking for a new pc soon

I'm looking to do a new build in the new year as I've got an open university course to do and I think my current system (AMD XP2400) is a little dated anyway.

Anyone recommend a supplier of a one stop shop sort of thing for getting enough components to put together a system for around £400-500, or even a pre-built system inc. monitor? (I've looked at neo but not a lot there at the moment).

I know prices will possibly fluctuate by Jan/Feb, but more interested at this stage of actually finding someone who comes recommended at this point.

There's no-one local really apart from Maplins and I've pondered buying in components from ebay and here and there, but looking to a possibility that something may go wrong, I really don't relish arguing the toss between a supplier of one component and supplier of another as to what component is faulty etc.

Prefer a 17''+ TFT, dual core based system if poss.

    Thanks for any pointers.

If you're not going to be doing much decoding/encoding/gaming, I'd be tempted just to buy a cheap Dell, reasonably priced with decent backup. Take a look here - http://www.dmxdimension.com/

Thanks for all the pointers chaps, still looking but will go for something soon (And thanks to carlover for the PM's mate, appreciated).. as I have to buy pre-built for the grant purposes and not a component option apparently I've had a look at a site that lets you 'make' your own spec PC from drop down otions and then gives you the price, inc. build/vat/del etc.

This is what I have my eye on as it's just about my max limit (I've already got a decent floppy, DL dvd, sound card and cooler spare so I'd probably swap them out)

I didn't mate, keeps the price down, and I've a legit copy of xp pro and Vista here so will initially be trying them both to see which one sits better for my needs (if it's xp, hence only the 2 gig ram)
