    Xbox 360 Guitar or Rock

hi all getting the kids either rock band or guitar hero the pack that includes all the stuff.
just want to know which would be better to get by your experience if you have them or know of anyone who's got either. i know that the rock band doesn't come with a game and both are pretty much same in price when game is bought for rock band.

    thanks in advance

If you're getting any of them, get them with a good store warrenty. The build quality of both sets of instruments (especially the new guitar hero) is appauling.

I've had the Rock Band drums (great btw...should have kept them) , the World Tour set (which broke after a few hours...not sensitive at all) and then I got my cash back and bought the World Tour with just the guitar (which has broken under a week!)

Getting my money back and waiting for more stock. If that fails...I'll just get the new Rock Band 2 instruments which ....suprise suprise have no UK release date yet.

I have the original Rock Band 1 full kit, and the drums are still working perfectly, if a little noisy
I also use the kit to play Rock Band 2 and GH:WT, so 3 games all work with it.

As for the games themselves I would say there is a lot of crossover in the songs between games, and the setlists arent that great in either game. I haven`t played too much guitar on GH:WT yet, but the drums are better on RB/RB2 (imo), and I`d expect the guitar to be better in GH:WT, but I can`t confirm it.

The guitar is much better i agree (if you get a working one) , but the World Tour game has a very depressing setlist.

I have them all - Only got Guitar Hero 2 and 3 guitars at the moment - no drums (Waiting for decent ones to hit the market). Rock Band is definately tougher than Guitar Hero.

Dude, that's exactly what I have been looking for, hence I have put off buying RB for the PS3. Do you know if the set is compatible with Guitar Hero - World Tour? and where did you order your set from?

    Thank you in advance!

All i can confirm are the drums on guitar hero world tour are SHITE... i played on them a few times and it just doesn't go with the beat or isn't sensitive enough, it just all comes together to be a dissapointing experience.

I'm ordering my kit from Djkit, it'll be about £180 with the 25% discount they're doing at the moment.

    Ah fuckers, says 'upto 25%'

Damn, don't know what to do.

Edit : I won't be getting the 3rd cymbol. I guess the whole thing is about the experience. The more you pay, the better the experience you get. I've spent fucking loads on headphones in the past few year. I'd love an electronic drum kit, but dont know if I could commit to something like this.

I've got World Tour and think the drum kit seems fine and prefer the layout of it to the rockband one.
If you're having sensitivity issues you can get a free midi to usb kit from activision and download some software to tune the kit to how you want.
I do have a duff guitar though. The strum bar doesn't register all the time, but I'm getting a replacement. Thankfully I got an extra free guitar with the set so have something to play on.

Have to say thought that Rockband2 is a far better game with a much better setlist and more natural/realistic drum and guitar patterns

You are 100% right mate, my mate has a set of Roland V-Drums that he paid £1300 for, and they are mint, so for me no matter how much I spend they will seem shit as I`ve played his VDrums.

Also to make it into a proper "electronic kit" you need to buy the DM5 sound module, which is another £150+.....

I might be tempted to get the Ion Kit if I can flog my RB1 BiaB to recoup a bit of the investment.
