Default ADT Accord Xpc Home Alarm Battery Replacement,

    Hi there
    hope you can help
I have a ADT XPC Accord house alarm that requires a replacement battery.
I have all the manuals and installation guides, but to replace the battery, I believ I need to put the system into engineer mode.
I've tried the default codes, but these dont seem to work.

If I remove the control panel cover to access the faulty battery, I'm presuming that the tamper switch will set off the alarm?
If this is the case, once the cover is off, could I enter my user code to stop the alarm sounding, or do I need the engineers or master code?

another option I thought about is
If I remove the main inline fuse, then remove the control box cover to access the battery, will the alarm sound (there is still some life in the battery), and if I disconnect the battery terminals, would the alarm then stop?
My plan is to remove the inline fuse, quickly remove the cover to access the battery, replace the battery, put the cover back on and hopefully everything should still work?
Or if I remove the mains power and the battery, will the system have to be reprogrammed/will it show errors on the touch panel?

    any help, gratefully recieved

    many thanks in advance

    Hi Peeps,

Can't really help your that much, but I know when I was working on my alarm the external sounders also had batteries in. When I removed the panel cover the alarm sounded, I then disconnected the battery (power was off) and the alarm continued to sound, I ended up disconnecting the external sounder batteries, until I could find the code. The panel was a Sterling thing..

Don't take life seriously. It isn't permanent.

u should be able to put in user code DO NOT remove the fuse as u run the risk of blowing the alarm!. in failing that ring the company and they should ask a few questions and give u a reset for the engineers code!

Chances are the engineer code wont be written anywhere. Your user code may not work, because when you put the panel back on when you leave engineering mode it does a reset and checks all the sensors and stuff... I have a mate who deals a lot with ADT engineers for his work, whenever I have an issue with my ADT alarm he sorts it for me, however he is in Thailand till the 31st Jan, if you haven't got it sorted by then let me know and i'll get you a definate answer.
