They would have been tears of joy had she got to round 5 of Endemol's Russian Roulette.

I reckon for once our laws aren't that bad on the topic. If it was legal, you can imagine old/infirm people having themselves killed as they didn't want to be a burden. Even worse, you can imagine old people pressured into it by relavtives/carers who can't be arsed.

As it is, it appears that people who do this with good intentions are breaking the law, but aren't prosecuted. Doesn't sound like a perfect system, but doesn't soudn that bad to me.

i cant understand the comments about people doing it for gain? if you mean insurance then thats not right as far as i know insurers dont pay out on suicide.

for other gains maybe like a paid off house i suppose but thats about it, assets and savings.

i saw the end of the program and saw the bit where he took the drink, i dont know what the fuss was about to be honest, they didnt show him actually die, just him drinking the stuff then the after bit where they say to his wife he's gone.

my 2p on the whole ending it all is if its terminal or the person is suffering pain then yes go for it but id say no to the guy who did it because he lost his way of life because of a rugby accident, that guy shouldnt have and there was no medical reason he should have, he wasnt suffering he just lost the use of his limbs as far as ive read, in his case it was a pride thing there was no need for him to do it.

i suppose it one of those things some will agree with some wont, and some will have different views on circumstances of right or wrong on the causes.
