    Question Removing adverts from websites

What's the best app for getting rid of the ad's (mainly the google ones) on websites?

I seem to remember a friend saying something about a Firefox addon, is there such a thing?

    What's the weapon of choice

Adblock Plus for Firefox will do that for ya.

I use the Easylist USA subsciption and it's ace.

You can get a hosts file for windows that lists a few thousand know advert servers and kills all connections to them.

See this web page for more details: http://everythingisnt.com/hosts.html

Admittedly it won't get all adverts, noting will be 100% accurate but this will block a good load of them. Will need to be updated manually every so often too.

Adblock Plus is what I use too, top notch. I used to use hosts files but my new windows installation has an empty hosts file and the ABP is doing just fine as a firefox add-on.
